I have the pleasure of serving in the Upper School at Caritas as an instructor for Humane Letters (History and Literature), and Formal Logic. In the past I served as an associate pastor of student ministries for about 9 years before becoming a classical educator. I have now been working as an instructor in classical and Christian schools since 2015 and I have worked at schools in Texas, Kansas, and Arizona. I am currently working to complete a doctoral dissertation towards a Ph.D. in Humanities from Faulkner University. My dissertation topic is on the role that stories play in the formation and preservation of virtue in each generation.
I am an avid lover of ancient and medieval literature, cultures, and languages. Theology, Philosophy, and logic are of particular interest to me and you can always get me to talk forever about any of those you please. C. S. Lewis is my favorite author and I push him on everyone I meet (brace yourself). I also am a huge nerd who loves Star Wars (Han shot first), Marvel (With great power comes great responsibility), and The Legend of Zelda (It’s dangerous to go alone). I practice martial arts (Taekwondo and Chinese Kenpo), and I enjoy writing stories and drawing whenever I find the time to work on such things. My wife, Susan, and I have four great kids and we are members of Reformation Orthodox Presbyterian Church in Apache Junction.
I am thankful to be at Caritas and I am excited about partnering with the families here to help their kids find truth, goodness, and beauty in everything they learn and to see that Jesus is Lord over every square inch of this universe.
