Admissions Overview
We are seeking committed families that desire to be a part of Caritas Academy and Christian classical education—a time-tested form of education used by hundreds of like-minded schools in the country. We hope that you will prayerfully consider joining our family and our mission—to glorify God and enjoy Him forever.
Why choose Caritas Academy?
Christian Worldview
We start with biblical theology in every subject we teach. Christian classical education doesn’t add a Bible class or a worldview class. It uses biblical principles to completely rework the way we approach education.
Strong Academics
Arizona public school standards rank near the bottom nationally. We want to help students succeed nationwide and worldwide by offering a strong academic alternative in the east valley.
Thinking, Articulate Students
Rather than simply filling students’ minds with facts, we go further to develop a student’s ability to think, reason, read, write, and speak well.
Not a “Conveyor Belt” Education
Our “humane letters” approach is well-rounded, allowing students to become learners in music, art, literature, philosophy, theology, math, and science.
Great Teachers, Great Students
Our teachers share a unique love for the pursuit of truth. And they are passionate not only about their subjects, but about inspiring students to learn. Our students will know why they’re here, and they’ll want to be here. This community of teachers and students is essential for great education.
Admissions Requirements (Grammar School, K-6th)
A child must have reached the age of five years by the first day of school in the year in which he would be entering kindergarten; six years of age by the first day of school for entrance into the first grade.
If a child has successfully completed the previous school year and his schoolwork and behavior compare favorably to Caritas Academy’s standards, he will be placed in the grade for which he is applying. However, if there is evidence that the child may not be adequately prepared for the next sequential grade level, he may be required to repeat the previous grade.
The student should understand that his parents have delegated their authority to the school during the school day. Therefore, the child is subject to the instruction and discipline of the teacher and the Head of School in their prescribed roles at Caritas.
Caritas Academy does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin, or sex in the administration of its policies, admissions, financial aid, and other school-directed programs.
Parents should have a clear understanding and support of the biblical philosophy and purpose of Caritas Academy as detailed in Who We Are.
Parents should have a clear understanding of our unique classical educational approach. Parents should carefully read the informational materials about the school. We also strongly encourage each parent to read the book by Douglas Wilson, Recovering the Lost Tools of Learning, as one of the best texts for explaining the kind of program we offer at Caritas Academy.
Parents are required to cooperate with all the written policies of Caritas Academy. This is especially important in the area of discipline and schoolwork standards, as well as active communication with the respective teachers and administration. In addition, parents are strongly encouraged to become active volunteers in other areas of the school.
